Daily Details

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival & Street Food Walking Tour

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, meet your private guide and transfer to your hotel in Hanoi. After some time to relax, spend the late afternoon exploring the vibrant Old Quarter on a guided walking and street food tour. Wander through bustling alleyways while sampling authentic Vietnamese specialties including local noodles, fresh bread, grilled snacks, and traditional desserts. Stop at the famous Bia Hoi Corner to experience Hanoi's lively street culture before ending the evening with ice cream from one of the city's oldest parlors.


Day 2: Hanoi – Pu Luong Nature Reserve

Depart Hanoi in the morning and travel southwest toward the peaceful landscapes of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Along the journey, stop at a local Muong ethnic market and admire the spectacular scenery from Thung Khe Pass. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before beginning a gentle trek through lush rice terraces, crossing streams and small village paths to visit Black Thai communities. Learn about traditional lifestyles while surrounded by some of Northern Vietnam's most picturesque countryside before relaxing at your eco-lodge for the evening.


Day 3: Pu Luong – Ninh Binh

Wake early to experience daily village life before breakfast. Continue exploring Pu Luong on foot, walking through rice paddies, sugarcane fields, and remote Thai villages connected by suspension bridges. Visit the famous giant bamboo water wheels and local duck farms before enjoying a peaceful bamboo rafting experience along Cham Stream. After lunch, travel to Ninh Binh, often called "Ha Long Bay on Land," for an overnight stay surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains.


Day 4: Ninh Binh – Hanoi

Begin the day cycling through quiet villages, rice fields, and countryside roads toward Mua Cave. Climb nearly 500 stone steps to the summit for panoramic views across Tam Coc's spectacular limestone landscape. Visit a local family to learn about traditional rural life before taking a peaceful sampan boat ride through Tam Coc, gliding beneath limestone caves and towering karst formations. Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.


Day 5: Hanoi – Ha Giang

Leave Hanoi behind and travel north through scenic countryside toward Ha Giang, Vietnam's northern frontier. Along the route, stop regularly for photographs of mountain landscapes and rural villages. Upon arrival, continue to Thon Tha Village, a traditional Tay ethnic community where wooden stilt houses sit among rice paddies and palm trees. Spend the evening enjoying home-cooked cuisine and warm hospitality with your local host family.


Day 6: Ha Giang – Dong Van Karst Plateau

Journey through the spectacular mountain roads of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, recognized for its extraordinary geological formations and dramatic scenery. Stop in Tam Son before continuing through Sa Phin Valley, where local Hmong communities preserve centuries-old flax weaving and embroidery traditions. Visit the historic Hmong King's Palace before arriving in Dong Van, a charming frontier town surrounded by towering limestone peaks.


Day 7: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac

If timing allows, visit the colorful Dong Van Market before continuing along the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, widely regarded as Vietnam's most spectacular mountain road. Descend to the emerald Nho Que River for a scenic boat trip through the breathtaking Tu San Canyon, the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia. Continue through Meo Vac before arriving in Bao Lac, where you'll spend the night in a traditional Tay village homestay surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery.


Day 8: Bao Lac – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Cao Bang

Travel through Northern Vietnam's remote mountain landscapes toward the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Asia's largest transnational waterfalls. Spend time exploring the falls, taking photographs, or boarding a bamboo raft for a close-up view of the cascading water. Continue to nearby Nguom Ngao Cave, famous for its impressive limestone formations sculpted over millions of years, before arriving at your accommodation in Cao Bang.


Day 9: Cao Bang – Bac Son Valley – Lang Son

After breakfast, travel toward the stunning Bac Son Valley, one of Northern Vietnam's most beautiful agricultural landscapes. Stop frequently along the scenic route before enjoying lunch in Quynh Son Village, home to the Tay ethnic people. Explore the peaceful stilt-house village before hiking to the summit of Na Lay Mountain for spectacular panoramic views across the patchwork rice fields of Bac Son Valley. Continue to Lang Son for an overnight stay.


Day 10: Lang Son – Ha Long Bay – Hanoi

Depart Lang Son and travel to Ha Long Bay for a full-day cruise among thousands of limestone islands rising dramatically from emerald waters. Enjoy lunch onboard while sailing through the bay before participating in activities such as kayaking, cave exploration, and hiking on Titov Island. After your cruise, return to Hanoi for your final evening in Vietnam.


Day 11: Hanoi Departure

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before spending your remaining free time shopping or relaxing. At the scheduled time, transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for your onward flight, bringing your unforgettable Northern Vietnam adventure to a close.
